DEPARTMENT OF POLITICAL SCIENCE (Estd: 1961)
History:
Political Science department was started with the establishment of the college in 1961, and Shri Hem Nath Sarma Bordoloi was appointed as the first lecturer and became the Head of the Department. Honours Course was introduced from the session 1975. Shri Nabin Ch. Gogoi, Md. Adil-ul-Yasin, and Dr. Tanmay Bhattacharjee are amongst the founder lecturers of this department. The total number of sanctioned posts is 5 (five).
Vision And Mission of The Department
Vision –
1. To give quality education in political science.
2. Help the students in understandings political system of the country.
3. To promote tolerance and acceptance of differing viewpoints on matters related to political and social.
4. Prepare them for the competitive examination.
Mission -
1. To create good human being and inculcate a holistic approach towards life;
2. Encourage them to strive for perfection;
3. Help them in their overall development.
4. To impart in them a sense of collective responsibility.
